“I Watched him Every Day!” – Bryan Mbeumo Reveals that one Manchester United legend Inspired His Dream Manchester United Move

Manchester United could be close to landing their second big signing of the summer – and he’s a self-proclaimed fan of one of the club’s greatest ever stars.

Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has already agreed personal terms with United, and now the Red Devils are working on finalising a deal with his current club. After completing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves, Erik ten Hag seems eager to keep the momentum going, and Mbeumo could be next.

But the exciting winger has already done more than just impress on the pitch – he’s also won the hearts of some United fans with a recent revelation.

Speaking to Jeremy Lynch on his YouTube channel, Mbeumo admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo was his footballing inspiration growing up. Like many aspiring attackers, the Cameroonian says he was glued to videos of Ronaldo in his prime, trying to copy his every move – especially his famous free-kick technique.

“When I was young, I watched Ronaldo so much on free kicks,” Mbeumo revealed. “I watched the YouTube videos as well… ‘How to shoot like Ronaldo,’ using this part [instep] of the boot right here.”

Mbeumo even showed off the technique himself in the video, scoring with Ronaldo’s iconic knuckleball style – a skill he’s clearly taken time to perfect. It’s exactly the kind of flair and confidence that United could use in their attack.

Interestingly, Mbeumo isn’t the only one at United who grew up idolising Ronaldo. The club’s newest signing, Matheus Cunha, also admitted he looked up to the Portuguese superstar during his childhood.

After completing his move, Cunha told MUTV how players like Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, and Paul Scholes shaped his dreams of playing at the top level.

“Ronaldo, everyone knows it is easy to talk about him,” Cunha said. “Ryan Giggs, everyone! I can see the team – Edwin van der Sar in goal, wow! Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic in defence, Paul Scholes, wow, Michael Carrick.”

Now with both Cunha and Mbeumo potentially leading the line, United may have a duo inspired by one of their own icons. It’s a partnership filled with pace, skill and, above all, ambition – the kind of mentality the Red Devils need to climb back to the top.

As talks continue between United and Brentford, fans will be watching closely. With Mbeumo’s goalscoring record, Ronaldo-inspired flair, and personal admiration for the club, he could soon be walking in his idol’s footsteps – and lighting up Old Trafford in the process.
