Ian Wright, a former scorer for Arsenal, has named a Manchester United player who he thinks could make a big difference in the upcoming match against Manchester City. Wright thinks that Bruno Fernandes could be the key to breaking down City’s defense when United plays them at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Manchester United played Nottingham Forest earlier this week and lost 1-0. Despite the disappointing loss, United’s manager, Rúben Amorim, saw many positive signs. The team appeared to have stronger ball control and collaboration. Amorim aims to take advantage of on these advantages in the coming match against City.

The game versus Manchester City is one of United’s important this season. Amorim will also have to consider their upcoming Europa League games, making it a busy and demanding period for the club.

Even though United fans may not feel too confident, Wright believes Bruno Fernandes could be the player to make a difference. On a recent show called The Overlap, co-host Jill Scott jokingly said that Fernandes might score a hat-trick because of City’s defense problems. Wright responded by saying he believes Fernandes will “definitely do something” in the match. Fernandes has a good record against City, having scored four goals and made four assists against them before. This season, he’s been in great form, with 31 goal contributions in all competitions.

Former United players Gary Neville and Roy Keane both predicted a draw in the derby. Neville thinks it will end 2-2, while Keane believes it will be 1-1.

Before the derby, manager Rúben Amorim spoke about his focus on improving his own team. He said, “I’m more focused on our problems. I think we have bigger problems than Manchester City.” While he knows City is a strong team with a top manager, Amorim wants to concentrate on getting his own players ready and figuring out how City will play. He believes if his players are at their best, they can perform well against City.

Bruno Fernandes will be the center of attention as the Manchester Derby draws near; he has the potential to assist United defeat their rivals.
