“They’re Playing Like a Mid-Table Team!” – Roy Keane Slams Liverpool After Embarrassing Defeat to Fulham That Could Cost Them the Title

The Squad faced a lot of criticism this Sunday after a disappointing 3-2 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage. This loss marked their first away defeat in the league this season and it didn’t go unnoticed.

Manchester United legend Roy Keane was one of the harshest critics. Speaking during half-time on Sky Sports, Keane blasted Liverpool’s poor display, saying:
“Liverpool are playing like they’re a mid-table team waiting for the end of the season. They’re not even smelling or sensing danger. Liverpool defensively, my goodness.”

The Reds had come into the game knowing that a win would take them 14 points clear at the top of the table after Arsenal dropped points against Everton. They even took the lead early on, but Fulham hit back in style, scoring three goals and snatching a deserved win.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted after the match that his team made too many mistakes during a chaotic 14-minute spell in the first half where they conceded all three goals.
“That was a difficult spell of 14 minutes… It was mostly down to our own errors,” he said.
“In general, we don’t make many of these mistakes—especially not three in one game. The second-half performance was much better, but when you concede three, it’s hard to come back.”

Slot added that the team lacked time to find an equaliser but praised his players’ effort after the break. Despite the defeat, Liverpool still have a strong chance of securing the Premier League title. They need just 11 points from their remaining 8 games to match Manchester United’s record of 20 English top-flight titles.
