Enzo Maresca Reveals how he's Helping Cole Palmer Get back to his best form

Chelsea’s head coach Enzo Maresca has shown full support for Cole Palmer as the young forward goes through a difficult spell at Stamford Bridge. Ahead of Chelsea’s upcoming match, Maresca admitted that Palmer is now facing a new type of challenge—something he says is important for his development.

“This is the first time Cole has really struggled,” said Maresca. “But he’s a top player. He just needs to keep working, and the goals will come again soon.”

Even though Palmer has not scored as much lately, Maresca urged fans and critics to consider how impressive his early form really was.

“Scoring 14 goals in your first 20 Premier League games is a big achievement,” Maresca said. “It’s a fantastic number.”

According to Maresca, it’s not that Palmer’s form has suddenly dropped—it’s more about how other teams are now attacking and defending against him. Because Palmer is one of Chelsea’s main attackers opponents are giving him special attention.

“This season, teams are marking him man-to-man,” Maresca explained. “That’s tough for any player.”

Maresca said this kind of pressure is a normal part of a young player’s journey and career.

“Struggling is part of the game, part of the season, and part of a career,” he said. “He’s having a tough moment now but once he scores again things will change quickly.”
