Chelsea supporters lose patience with French defender Axel Disasi after he's left out of Club World Cup squad, with many urging the club to sell him following a viral gym video.
Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons – and not because of anything happening on the pitch.
The 27-year-old Frenchman was left out of Chelsea’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup currently taking place in the United States. While the rest of the team is preparing for their quarterfinal clash, Disasi has been training alone back in London – and fans are not happy about it.
A video clip shared by popular Chelsea fan page Chelsea Dodgers showed Disasi working out intensely on a stationary bike in the gym. But instead of support, the response from fans was full of criticism and disappointment.

“He shouldn’t get closer to the team,” one fan wrote under the video. Another added, “I don’t see anybody who isn’t in America with Chelsea for CWC starting or even being a squad player.” One harsh reply simply said, “He’s getting sold bro!”
Disasi has struggled to impress since joining Chelsea from Monaco in 2023. Despite a few strong performances, he’s made several costly mistakes that have seen him slip down the defensive pecking order under Enzo Maresca. The centre-back was sent on loan to Aston Villa during the second half of last season, but a return to Chelsea hasn’t improved his standing.
Now, with Maresca reshaping the squad and prioritising younger or more consistent defenders, Disasi’s Chelsea future looks uncertain. Reports suggest Juventus have shown interest in the French international, but the Italian side is reluctant to pay a transfer fee due to financial limitations.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are reportedly open to letting him leave – even for free – though that may be complicated given he still has four years left on his contract.
Despite his commitment in training, Disasi may face a difficult reality: fans have lost patience, and his time at Stamford Bridge could be nearing the end. Whether he secures a move this summer or stays to fight for his place remains to be seen.
