“I Wish Him the Best” – Pep Guardiola Sends Cryptic goodbye message to Manchester City Star
Pep Guardiola has made a strong suggestion that Jack Grealish could be heading out of Manchester City this summer, as the club continues to reshape the squad following a mixed campaign and fresh success at the Club World Cup.

City cruised into the next round of the tournament after a dominant 5-2 win over Juventus. The victory, led by an early goal from Jeremy Doku and followed up by efforts from Erling Haaland, Phil Foden, and Savinho, has taken City’s Club World Cup prize money past £10 million.

Despite the big win, much of the post-match conversation focused on Jack Grealish — and what Guardiola had to say about the £100m man made it quite clear: his time at the Etihad may be coming to an end.

When asked whether Grealish has what it takes to play for European giants like Bayern Munich, Guardiola gave a revealing answer.

“I’ve said many times, the guys have been together for many years, always I wish him the best,” Guardiola told reporters. “I wish the best for Jack, his partner, his kids, his family. I don’t know what’s going to happen right now and I don’t have any doubts about the quality of Jack – the quality has always been there.”

Guardiola praised Grealish’s role in the historic Treble-winning season, saying, “The year of the Treble we won, without him, it would not have been possible. So, he’s a top, top, top player.”

But the City boss also admitted that competition for places – especially from the in-form Doku and breakout star Savinho – has left Grealish out of the picture.

“The only reason he didn’t play minutes was me, not because he was incorrect. In the end, every season they have to compete. And this season, they have to do it again.”

Grealish might not be the only major exit this summer. Guardiola has made it clear he wants to work with a smaller squad moving forward, and a number of other players could be sold or sent out on loan.

Kyle Walker, who spent time on loan at AC Milan, may not return to the fold. James McAtee was left out of the Club World Cup squad and looks likely to leave. Youngster Claudio Echeverri could also go out on loan to gain first-team experience. Meanwhile, Kalvin Phillips’ injury situation means another loan spell is likely when he returns to full fitness.

Even experienced stars like John Stones and Tommy Doyle have uncertain futures, while Vitor Reis and Joshua Wilson-Esbrand are expected to leave on loan.

Who Could Leave Man City This Summer?

Here’s a list of players reportedly on the chopping block or set for a move:

  • Jack Grealish
  • Kyle Walker

  • John Stones
  • Kalvin Phillips (loan)
  • Tommy Doyle
  • Claudio Echeverri (loan)
  • Vitor Reis (loan)

Despite the possible exits, Guardiola confirmed that Matheus Nunes is not for sale, ending speculation about the midfielder’s future.
