“They’re Weak Mentally and Physically”—Roy Keane Calls out Man United Stars After Newcastle Loss

Manchester United were completely outplayed by Newcastle, and Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane didn’t hold back in his post-match comments. The former United captain was brutally honest, saying the team looked weak both physically and mentally – and that they fully deserved the loss.

“Newcastle were too fast, too powerful, and more determined,” Keane said after the final whistle. “Manchester United just couldn’t handle the pace and intensity of Newcastle’s attackers. They got exactly what they deserved.”

Newcastle dominated the game with energy and fight. Their players were quicker to every ball and won nearly all the physical battles across the pitch. Manchester United, on the other hand, looked flat, slow, and lacking in fight.

Keane even brought up the manager Ruben Amorim, who took over at United from Erik Ten Hag. He said:

“I bet you he [Amorim] can’t believe how bad this Man Utd team is – obviously he can’t say that out loud. But I think he’s walked into that dressing room and been shocked.”

The criticism continued as Keane pointed out the lack of progress in the team: “People keep saying there are signs that they’re getting better… I don’t see it. I really worry for this group of players.”

Keane believes the main issue is poor recruitment. He thinks United have signed players who aren’t strong or aggressive enough. He compared them to Newcastle, who looked stronger, faster, and more determined. While Newcastle showed hunger and strength all over the pitch, United were second-best in every duel.
