Wayne Bridge Urges Enzo Maresca to Sign this “Really Good” Goalkeeper After Brentford Draw
Former Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge believes Aaron Ramsdale could be the ideal goalkeeper for Enzo Maresca’s side amid ongoing struggles in front of goal.

A former Chelsea left-back has urged the club’s current head coach Enzo Maresca to consider signing a “really good” goalkeeper this summer—Aaron Ramsdale.
This comes after Chelsea’s slow 0-0 draw against Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday which left fans disappointed yet again. The Blues looked flat throughout the match, creating very few chances in what was an important game for their quest of finishing in the top four and qualifying for the Champions League.
Many fans were frustrated by Maresca’s decision to rotate his starting eleven heavily, especially in such an important fixture. To make things worse the head coach made excuses after the match even blaming the poor performance on the weather which that didt not sit well with the fans.
However, Maresca also admitted his disappointment with the team’s attackers saying they are not scoring enough goals and need to improve fast. Chelsea will need to find answers fast because of their busy schedule and the opportunity provided by the Conference League to win a trophy.
One suggestion has come from ex-Blues left-back Wayne Bridge. Speaking about former Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who is now with Southampton, Bridge said Ramsdale would be a great option for Chelsea.
“He’s a good goalie, mate,” Bridge told The Boot Room. “I felt sorry for him going there [Southampton]. I thought, you know what? He’s earning his money going there. I feel for him. Even at Arsenal, I thought he got dropped quite quickly. But, mate, he could be Chelsea’s goalie. He could play for most teams in the Premier League. I think he’s really good.”
Ramsdale has had a tough time in recent years. After losing his spot at Arsenal to David Raya, he joined Southampton, who were recently relegated from the Premier League. Despite the team’s struggles, Ramsdale’s quality has never been in doubt, and he’s still considered one of England’s top goalkeepers.
With Chelsea possibly looking to strengthen their goalkeeping department this summer, Bridge’s suggestion might not be a bad idea at all.
