"WE’RE NOT STUPID" – BRUNO FERNANDES MAKES HIS REPLY TO ROY KEANE’S BRUTAL MANCHESTER UNITED CRITICISM

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has responded after club legend Roy Keane accused the team of not running or working hard enough during their 4-1 loss to Newcastle United.

It was another disappointing night for United, who suffered their 14th Premier League defeat of the season, leaving fans frustrated and pundits questioning the players’ effort.

After the game, former United captain Roy Keane didn’t hold back in his post-match analysis. Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane said some players just don’t want to run, even when they’re physically able.

“Some of the players can run, but they don’t want to,” Keane said. “That’s the part I would be most frustrated with.”

He also questioned if manager Rúben Amorim underestimated how bad the current squad really is.

“I think he’s gone in there and been shocked at how poor this group of players is.”

Keane pointed out defensive mistakes, including poor marking and effort, calling out a right back who let an opponent go by too easily.

After hearing Keane’s comments, Bruno Fernandes was asked to respond. The Portuguese midfielder admitted the team is fully aware of the problems and understands why fans and pundits are frustrated.

“It’s the opinion of other people,” Fernandes told Sky Sports. “I can’t make everyone think the same about me or my teammates.”

“We’re not stupid. We know the position we’re in. It’s easy to criticise because this club has never been like this. We’ve not suffered this much in a long time.”

Fernandes added that playing for Manchester United comes with pressure, and criticism is expected when results aren’t going well.

“You need to be aware that you play for Manchester United. Criticism will come. You get praise when you do well and criticism when you don’t. You just have to find the right balance.”
